Frank Dunne is an Irish actor and playwright with a long and distinguished career. Before playing Danny in Three And Out, he most recently appeared in the television series WAKING THE DEAD and he also had a part in the film ALI G IN DA HOUSE.
Frank's other television credits include THE BILL, WIRE IN THE BLOOD, LONDON'S BURNING, HARBOUR LIGHTS, PERFECT SCOUNDRELS, OUR BOY , and the film LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS.
A prolific writer, Frank has composed more than 20 radio plays for broadcast on RTE Radio, many of which have also been broadcast on BBC Radio 4, as have many of his short stories. He has also appeared in many radio productions throughout his career.
Frank has also published a book of poetry, THE MIRROR IN THE MOON and a book of short stories, DOOLAN'S DAUGHTER AND OTHER STORIES.
Frank's stage career includes roles in PHILADELPHIA HERE I COME and ARISTOCRATS by Brian Friel and THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD at the Bristol Old Vic.
Frank appeared in the film DA in 1988, and in television police drama SOFTLY SOFTLY in 1967 and 1970. He also appeared in DIXON OF DOCK GREEN, NO HIDING PLACE and THE VILLAINS in the sixties.
Frank first came to England to play the lead in James Joyce's play EXILES, followed by repertory seasons in Nottingham, Newcastle upon Tyne, Lincoln and Belfast.
Frank trained as a young actor at the Brendan Smith School of Acting in Dublin and then toured and played in Dublin seasons with Anew McMaster and the Edwards MacLiammoir Company.
