Three And Out

TOMMY - Colm Meaney

TOMMY - Colm Meaney

Tommy is an Irishman living in London, just past the prime of his life. Although he has no fixed address and is in need of a bath, he could scrub up quite well.

There is also a skeleton or two in his closet (if he ever had one, that is).

Colm Meaney - BIOG.

Before completing Three And Out Dublin-born Colm recently appeared in several feature films, including A LOBSTER TALE and KINGS, for which he has received an Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Award nomination for Best Actor. Other recent film credits include LAYER CAKE with Daniel Craig and the ensemble comedy INTERMISSION with Colin Farrell.

A versatile actor who works in both film and television, Colm recently appeared in two episodes of US comedy series MEN IN TREES, starring Anne Heche and will star in the upcoming US version of the BBC television series LIFE ON MARS, produced by David E. Kelley.

His reputation as both a lead and supporting film actor was cemented throughout the 1990's with roles in MYSTERY ALASKA with Russell Crowe, CON AIR with Nicholas Cage, THE ENGLISHMAN WHO WENT UP A HILL BUT CAME DOWN A MOUNTAIN with Hugh Grant and ROAD TO WELVILLE with Sir Anthony Hopkins. He also co-starred in FAR & AWAY with Tom Cruise and in Michael Mann's epic THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS.

In 1994 Colm earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor for his role in THE SNAPPER, the second film in the screen adaptations of Roddy Doyle's BARRYTOWN TRILOGY. He also appeared in the other parts of the trilogy, THE COMMITMENTS and THE VAN.

Earlier work in big-budget films during this decade included Warren Beatty's DICK TRACEY and DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER. These roles were the result of appearances in John Huston's critically-acclaimed, Oscar-nominated drama THE DEAD and in the 1987 action drama OMEGA SYNDROME, which was his debut film role.

In 1987 Colm also created the character of Miles O'Brien for the pilot episode of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. After appearing in seven seasons of this popular show, he then joined the spin-off series STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE until 1999.
Colm first started acting in his early teens. He graduated from the renowned ABBEY THEATRE SCHOOL OF ACTING, part of the IRISH NATIONAL THEATRE and later joined the company as a professional actor.

Three And Out will be Colm's 38th feature film.
